Subscription boxes are my jam. I love the surprise of receiving a box of curated goodies, like a birthday gift that just keeps coming! That’s why I am pumped to try out the Coastal Co Spring box! Coastal Co sends out a curated box that’s coastal-themed just for people like me who can’t imagine ever living far from the ocean. They have a women’s box and men’s box for each season. Each box contains 6-8 pieces of curated clothing, accessories, and other goodies that are worth over $200. Boxes come each season—every three months—and each box is $99. One cool thing is that the box is curated for where you live, too. Even if you don’t live in a tropical beach location, Coastal Co will curate weather-appropriate items that still have that coastal vibe. The spring box is my first Coastal Co box, and I can’t wait to share with you guys what’s inside!
What’s inside
The Spring 2019 Coastal Co box includes the following seven items. I also tracked down the rough pricing for each item, when I could find it!
- Cocovít Coconut Water Hydro-Mist – $16
- Saltwater LUXE Floral Kimono – $99 (for
similar style) - Vagabond Goods Bikini Bag – $28 (for
similar style) - Kohole “
Mave Waves” Ring in Silver – $25 - Havaianas Flip Flops – $26
- Chaser “Island Vibes” Graphic Tank – $59 (for
style)similar - Laguna Salt Company Duo – $14 ($6.95 ea)
That puts the total value of the Spring Coastal Co box at roughly just over $260, so that’s basically $160 of savings since each box is $99.
What I thought
I was really curious what sort of things the spring Coastal Co box would contain, especially because this is the first box I’ve received. I found that there was a good mix of clothing, accessories, and lifestyle items. Here’s a little bit about each of the seven items that were including in the spring box.
Cocovít Coconut Water Hydro-Mist
The first item in this quarter’s box is this Coconut Water Hydro-Mist by Cocovít. It’s supposed to be a hydrating mist/toner made from coconut water, coconut oil, aloe vera, and witch hazel. Cocovít recommends applying in the morning and at night before the rest of your skincare routine. It smells really nice, and I love that it’s easy to use during the day. I’m not sure if I’d buy it again because I don’t see that much benefit for the price, but it’s a nice addition to the Coastal Co s
Saltwater LUXE Kimono
The highlight clothing item in the spring Coastal Co box is this floral kimono by Saltwater LUXE. I linked a similar one on their website—the only difference is the one from the box doesn’t have any buttons. The kimono uses a heavier fabric that hangs nicely and feels really luxe. It does seem to wrinkle pretty easily, so it might be something that needs to be ironed or steamed regularly. I’ve been wanting something like this for my summer wardrobe, so I’ll be excited to pull it out again when it starts to warm up!
Vagabond Goods Bikini Bag
This little bag from Vagabond Goods has SUCH a cute pattern. It’s made from heavy canvas, and it’s supposed to be perfect for your wet bikini after a day on the beach, but it could be used as a makeup pouch or something, too. I couldn’t find this specific pattern on Vagabond’s website, but they have similar designs that I linked instead. I could definitely see myself packing some makeup and sun essentials in this pouch for my next beach day.
Kohole “Make Waves” Ring
I love that Coastal Co included this ring made by Kohole Ocean Gems. Each ring is handmade in Hawaii, and after wearing this ring for a few days, I definitely love the quality of this ring. The material has stayed bright without tarnishing, and there’s been no funny business with my skin turning green or anything like that. The ring they sent in the box was adjustable, which is awesome. Just be careful to adjust it carefully since silver is a very malleable metal! I will definitely be wearing this ring all summer.
Havaianas Flip Flops
These bronze-colored flip flops are from Havaianas. I don’t know how I’ve never heard of this brand since
Chaser “Island Vibes” Tank
Since I started running, I have definitely been needing more cute exercise and lounge shirt options. My favorite part about this shirt from Chaser is the curved hem at the bottom—it looks so cute with leggings! I couldn’t find an exact match for this design, but I linked a similar one. The fabric is soft but still nice and thick, which makes this shirt perfect for even the chillier spring days that I get in the Pacific Northwest. The distressed graphics just makes this shirt seem even comfier. I want like five of these in different styles for the gym!
Laguna Salt Company Duo
I was really excited to receive this salt duo containing Laguna Salt Company’s Sweet Hibiscus Sea Salt and their Hawaiian Black Sea Salt. Never estimate really good salt! The sweet hibiscus has a hint of sweetness and an awesome pink color that’s perfect for garnishing dishes, and the Hawaiian black sea salt uses activated charcoal to give it an earthy black color and taste. Food and home items can be really hit or miss, so props to Coastal Co for including something that I will actually use (and use a lot).
Overall, I was really happy with my Coastal Co spring box. If you end up using most of the items in the box, the Coastal Co box is a great deal. My favorites from this box are the salt and the
There’s still time to order the spring Coastal Co box—it will be available until the end of May! The summer box will start shipping in June.
